Vacancy Description

We are a small Local Authority with a mixture of urban and rural communities which offers great variety and positive challenges.   West Berkshire Council has a strong focus on its local communities and uses a strengths based approach with the people that we work with.  

Our Adult Social Care East Locality is seeking a new Locality Manager to lead the Teams within the Locality and the Review Team and includes the line management of three Locality Team Leaders, the Review Team Leader and the Administration Officer. The Locality is based in Calcot close to the community it serves on the outskirts of Reading and the surrounding villages.

The successful candidate will be promoting close working relationships with colleagues in Housing, with local GP surgeries and with voluntary sector agencies in the area. You will be responsible for ensuring that the council resources are used effectively to support vulnerable residents and you will contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of the service plan and continuous improvement of the service. You will also be leading the Review Team who undertake scheduled reviews of customers in receipt of services across the authority area and in out of county placements. You will support the continued development of a variety of Review approaches to improve the team’s efficiency to meet key targets.

The post holder must hold a relevant professional qualification - either Social Work or Occupational Therapy - and will need to have relevant experience as a manager.
