Are you passionate about ensuring compliance with licensing regulations? Do you have a keen eye for detail and a drive to make a positive impact in your local community? If so, West Berkshire Council has an exciting opportunity for you to join our dedicated Public Protection Partnership as a Licensing Enforcement Officer.

As a Licensing Enforcement Officer, you will play a crucial role in promoting and maintaining high standards of licensing compliance across Bracknell Forest and West Berkshire. Reporting to the Team Manager - Licensing, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting inspections and investigations to ensure businesses and individuals are adhering to licensing requirements
  • Providing advice and guidance to licensees and the public on licensing matters
  • Taking appropriate enforcement action in cases of non-compliance, including preparing and presenting evidence for legal proceedings
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to promote best practice and improve licensing processes

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • A good understanding of licensing legislation and its application
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a diverse range of individuals
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities, enabling you to effectively prioritise and manage your workload
  • The confidence to make sound decisions and take appropriate enforcement action when necessary
  • A valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes
