Are you passionate about making a positive difference in people's lives? Do you have experience in adult social care and a strong understanding of the Shared Lives model? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join West Berkshire Council as a Shared Lives Officer.

As a Shared Lives Officer, you will work closely with the Shared Lives Registered Manager to support and promote the Shared Lives service within the Adult Social Care Service. You will be responsible for a range of key duties, including:

  • Assisting with the recruitment, assessment, and approval of Shared Lives carers
  • Matching individuals requiring support with suitable Shared Lives carers
  • Providing ongoing support, supervision, and training to Shared Lives carers
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and quality standards
  • Building and maintaining effective partnerships with external stakeholders

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • A thorough understanding of the Shared Lives model and its application within adult social care
  • Experience in assessing and supporting individuals with care and support needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with a diverse range of people
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with the flexibility to manage multiple priorities
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practice guidelines
