Vacancy Description

West Berkshire Council are seeking to recruit a Recruitment and Publicity Officer based within the Fostering Service. This is a fixed term contract for 18 months.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a Local Authority fostering team and to lead on the recruitment of new foster families for children in care.

The successful candidate will plan and coordinate exciting and engaging marketing, promotional and recruitment campaigns alongside other activities that result in the successful recruitment of foster carers.

Educated to degree level or equivalent, and preferably with experience of marketing or recruitment in a fostering service, you will be responsible for the production and review of the Annual Fostering Recruitment Strategy; reporting activity and analysis of results to leaders in the council. You will lead on all publicity for the service using social media and fostering good relationships with local businesses and service providers.

You will represent the council in the South East Fostering Hub, a new partnership across SE councils to promote and recruit foster carers, including participating in a rota for the region, answering enquiries and engaging with potential carers.
