Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to contribute to the improvement of local transport and countryside services? West Berkshire Council is seeking a skilled and motivated Technician to join our Transport and Countryside Service. In this role, you will provide technical support to the Principal Engineer (Highway Asset Mgt) and play a key part in delivering high-quality services to our community.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist in the management and maintenance of the highway asset management system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Undertake data analysis and produce reports to support decision-making processes.
  • Assist in the coordination of highway improvement schemes, including liaising with contractors and stakeholders.
  • Provide technical advice and support to internal and external customers.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of service delivery.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Relevant technical qualification or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and present data effectively.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Proficient in the use of IT systems, including Microsoft Office and relevant technical software.
