Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and families? Join West Berkshire Council as a Care Placement Officer and play a crucial role in our Children Services.

As a Care Placement Officer based in the newly created Childrens Commissioning Team, you will work closely with the Family Placement Team to ensure the effective placement of children in care. You will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring placements, liaising with foster carers and other professionals, and ensuring the best possible outcomes for children and young people.

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • A thorough understanding of the legislation and regulations relating to children in care and fostering
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage a varied workload
  • The capability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently
