Vacancy Description

Are you a highly motivated and organised individual with a passion for construction project management? Do you thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment? If so, West Berkshire Council has an exciting opportunity for you to join our Finance and Property Service as a Project Officer, reporting to the Capital Projects Delivery Manager.

As a Project Officer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of capital projects across West Berkshire. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive project management, including project planning, monitoring and reporting, financial management, and stakeholder engagement. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be essential in building effective relationships with internal and external partners to ensure the smooth progress of projects.

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Proven experience in construction project management, ideally within a public sector or local government setting
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical abilities
  • Proficiency in using project management tools and software
  • A collaborative and proactive approach, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
