Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and young people? Do you have experience in leading and supporting a team? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join West Berkshire Council as a Residential Team Leader within our Short Break Service.

As a Residential Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring the effective operation of our residential provision for children and young people with special educational needs, disabilities and complex health needs. Reporting to the Team Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading and supervising a team of dedicated residential support workers
  • Ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and support to children and young people
  • Collaborating with external agencies and professionals to meet the individual needs of service users
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of care plans and risk assessments
  • Promoting a positive and inclusive residential environment

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Previous experience in a similar leadership position within a residential or care setting
  • A sound understanding of relevant legislation and best practice, particularly in relation to safeguarding and child protection
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to effectively prioritise and manage a varied workload
