Are you an experienced Project Manager looking for an exciting opportunity to make a real impact within a forward-thinking local authority?

West Berkshire Council is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Customer Engagement & Transformation Service as a Project Manager.

Reporting to the Acting Transformation and Programme Manager, you will play a key role in driving and delivering transformational change across the organisation.

As a Project Manager, you will:

  • Lead and manage a portfolio of projects, ensuring successful delivery within agreed timescales and budgets
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels to identify and define project requirements
  • Develop and maintain effective project plans, monitoring progress and proactively managing risks and issues
  • Engage and communicate with a wide range of audiences, ensuring project objectives are clearly understood and achieved
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management methodologies and practices within the council

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in successfully delivering complex projects, ideally within a public sector or local government environment
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and influence at all levels
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with a keen eye for detail
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach, with the ability to work effectively under pressure
  • A relevant professional qualification in project management (e.g. PRINCE2) would be advantageous
