Are you an experienced Project & Programme Manager looking for an exciting new opportunity within a forward-thinking local authority? West Berkshire Council is seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our Customer Engagement & Transformation Service as a Project & Programme Manager.

Reporting to the Acting Transformation and Programme Manager, you will play a key role in delivering a wide range of projects and programmes that contribute to the continuous improvement and transformation of our services. You will have the opportunity to work across various service areas, collaborating with stakeholders at all levels to drive positive change and achieve strategic objectives.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proven experience in successfully managing and delivering complex projects and programmes within a public sector or similar environment.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate project teams to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with the confidence to engage with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Sound knowledge of project management methodologies and techniques, ensuring effective planning, monitoring, and control of initiatives.
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach, with the ability to identify and address potential risks and issues in a timely manner.

Please note, this role is fixed term until 1st July 2026 – Backfill for secondment
