Vacancy Description

An opportunity has arisen for an outcome focused psychologist to lead the development of the expanding West Berkshire Emotional Health Academy (EHA). The EHA is West Berkshire’s innovative early help service for children and young people with emerging emotional and mental health difficulties. The post holder will lead innovation and commercialisation of this dynamic team as well as work strategically on mental health issues within the local authority and with partner agencies.

There are currently exciting developments in West Berkshire including the establishment of mental health support teams in one area of the authority and the roll out of the therapeutic thinking schools approach. The service is well-established and hosts a successful multi-agency triage for children and young people experiencing mental health difficulties. The post will involve budget management.

We are looking to recruit a sound experienced clinical practitioner with a proven track record of evidence based practice. Research experience is preferable.

Applicants will need to be BABCP accreditable if not accredited already as well as a HCPC registered psychologist.

The applicant must have a first degree in psychology and a postgraduate qualification in either clinical psychology or educational psychology.
