Vacancy Description

The Public Protection Partnership is offering you the opportunity to take the first steps into a career protecting the public and communities from harm whilst having the opportunity to be a real force for good. The PPP provides environmental health, trading standards and licensing across Bracknell Forest, West Berkshire and Wokingham Council areas.

We are now looking to recruit a three Trainee Regulatory Services Officers. The successful candidates will be supported through the Regulatory Compliance Officer – Level 4 Apprenticeship the details of which can be found here:   https://www.instituteforapprenticeships.org/apprenticeship-standards/regulatory-compliance-officer/

You will be working alongside staff from teams covering a wide remit including residential and housing work to food safety and health and safety, protecting environmental standards, trading standards and licensing. You will also be able to work with our Response Team and Intelligence Officers. As a three authority shared service we are able to give successful candidates all the support they need to achieve the final standards as well as a broad and deep understanding of the work of regulatory service. For those that show aptitude and commitment the opportunity to go onto environmental health, trading standards and licensing officers professional training may be forthcoming.  

The successful candidate will have a good standard of education at GCSE including English and Maths. They will also need to demonstrate a significant interest in the work of the Public Protection Partnership. In return you will receive a proper wage and all training expenses and associated fees will be paid.

This role has been identified as public facing in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2017; the requirement to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English applies.
