Vacancy Description

West Berkshire is a largely rural area located in the North Wessex Downs AONB with easy access to London, Reading and Oxford.  A great place to work and live with generous leave and other benefits.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join us and play a leading role in the newly formed ITS team.  Working within a small team assisting in the delivery of the Transport and Countryside Capital Programme.

You will be responsible for delivering improvements to the highways network to both existing systems as well as the delivery of new equipment and systems.  The post also covers sustainable travel including the provision of electric vehicle charging points.

You will be responsible for delivering schemes from concept to delivery including design, consultation, producing bill of quantities, managing consultants, contractors and external service providers. You will be responsible for monitoring existing equipment (including UTC) and arranging and ensuring repairs are undertaken quickly and efficiently to ensure minimum impact to the network. You will have frequent contact with elected members, members of the public and will need to work collaboratively with members of other teams, other Service areas and external organisations.

This role has been identified as public facing in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2017; the requirement to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English applies.
