Are you a qualified social worker with experience at Assistant Team Manager level?

Are you passionate about giving children and young people with disabilities the opportunity to reach their full potential?
Do you have the skills, vision, enthusiasm and drive we are looking for to manage a successful Disabled Children’s Team? If so, West Berkshire Council may have the role you’ve been waiting for.

We are looking for an exceptional professional to manage our team for children with disabilities. This will include managing a team of social workers, family support workers and occupational therapists and ensuring that high standards are met in delivering a social work service to children with disabilities and their families.

To be successful in this role, you will be a highly skilled, experienced and motivated social worker with at least two (preferably three) years’ experience as an Assistant Team Manager in children’s social care. Experience of working with children and young people with disabilities and complex needs. will be an advantage but is not essential.

You will need excellent interpersonal skills as well as the ability to motivate staff and communicate your passion for achieving the best possible outcomes for children with disabilities. Budget management experience is desirable but not essential.

This role requires the incumbent to have a car available at work to undertake his/her duties as they will be expected to undertake at least 1500 business miles per year. Essential Car User status attracts a lump sum allowance paid on a monthly basis as well as a free car parking space if he/she works at one of the Council’s corporate buildings.
