Vacancy Description

The Public Protection Partnership (PPP) is one of the largest regulatory service units in the region. With over 100 staff the PPP is an intelligence led organisation delivering Trading Standards, Environmental Health and Licensing services to around 450K people over three local authority areas. As well as officers from all public protection disciplines we have our own intelligence unit, financial investigation unit and case management team of lawyers.

Following a restructure we are now looking to recruit two qualified and ambitious Trading Standards Officers to work in one of our operational units namely: compliance and enforcement, response or programme delivery. There is a wide variety of interesting work as the PPP contributes significantly to the partner council community, environmental and health protection agendas as well as Regional (TSSE) and NTSB projects.

The successful candidate will be a qualified Trading Standards Officer holding the DTS or DCATS with 70 points (including Food and Metrology). You will also need to be able to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of legal framework governing investigations. We would particularly be interested to hear from specialists in food standards, investigations or developing and managing a targeted programme deliver approach. We are committed to training and development and the service has its own lead officer in this respect.
