Are you passionate about children and young people’s emotional health and wellbeing?

Do you have the skills and interest to work in schools, health and community settings developing prevention and early intervention support for children, young people and families?

We are looking for an outstanding person to join our team. The Emotional Health Academy is West Berkshire's innovative early help service for children and young people with emerging emotional & mental health difficulties.

As one of our Emotional Health Workers you will be providing early intervention support to children and young people in schools and the wider community. You will focus on building resilience and strength-based skills, using evidenced based interventions in accordance with NICE guidelines. The desired applicant will also have experience using parent and family centred approaches.

What do you need?

• First degree in psychology or a relevant degree.
• Experience working with children and young people.
- Knowledge of evidenced informed child and adolescent mental health, and wider determinants of health and wellbeing.

You need to be:
• Flexible and open to innovative service delivery.
• An advocate of community based approaches to emotional wellbeing.
• Knowledgeable and experienced about safeguarding and risk.
• Organised and IT literate.
• Able to support and advise others, taking the lead when appropriate.
• Reflective, analytical and decisive.
• A good listener, communicator and trainer.
• Have specific skills, interests or expertise that you can offer to the role.

This is a full time role on a 3 year fixed term contract (funding limited project).

This role requires the incumbent to have a car available at work to undertake his/her duties as they will be expected to undertake at least 1500 business miles per year. Essential Car User status attracts a lump sum allowance paid on a monthly basis as well as a free car parking space if he/she works at one of the Council’s corporate buildings.
