West Berkshire Council is looking to recruit a Clinical Lead for Birchwood Care Home which provides nursing care and care for frail elderly residents, some with dementia and challenging behaviour.

We are looking for a Clinical Lead who, together with the Deputy Manager, can support the Manager with the development of the home and provide advice, guidance and leadership to the staff team.  The Clinical Lead will provide specific clinical support to staff and be responsible for the supervision of Birchwood’s nursing staff.

Our approach to home improvement requires a commitment to positive change from a senior leadership team working closely together, so the new Clinical Lead will be both well supported by their senior colleagues and given responsibility to effect changes and steer the improvement in standards. You would be joining us at an exciting time, when as one of these senior leaders you would be driving genuine service improvement for the residents and have a central role in managing any changes that involves for staff. Throughout this, your focus would always be championing high standards of clinical care at all times.

You will also be entitled to a generous annual leave entitlement of 28 days per annum rising to a maximum of 33 days. 

The salary includes a special recruitment payment of £5-£10k per annum which is reviewed every 5 years and may be reduced or removed with one year’s notice.

This role has been identified as public facing in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2017; the requirement to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English applies.
