Vacancy Description

At West Berkshire Reablement Service we provide successful, person focused short term support to adults within their homes in order to minimise their care needs and maximise their independence.

We are looking for an experienced Care professional to join our ‘out of normal office hours’ team of four.  You must be a problem solver, able to think on your feet and have experience in scheduling/rostering, preferably in a domiciliary environment.

Your day to day tasks will be to: oversee the co-ordination of the service in terms of managing staff and their work patterns whilst they are on shift , reacting and promptly resolving problems that may arise daily to minimise the impact on our service delivery to people we are supporting.  You should be a good communicator as you will be liaising with people’s family members, emergency services and other health and social care professionals.

You will be motivated, reliable, dependable, self-confident and able to work autonomously and above all, committed to represent Reablement and be part of an innovative service where your flair for finding creative solutions can thrive.

This is an opportunity to make good use of your transferable skills and your desire to deliver a high quality service.  You must be able to navigate Microsoft Office and databases with confidence. Geographical knowledge of the West Berkshire area would be an advantage.

This role has been identified as public facing in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2017; the requirement to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English applies.

 WHAT DO THE WORK PATTERNS LOOK LIKE?

The working week begins on a Saturday and is a rolling 4 week pattern alternating between early and late shifts and always working alternate weekends.

For example:

Week 1Non working weekend             22 hours

Tuesday and Thursday 06.00-10.00am plus 16.00-22.00pm each day        

Week 2 - Working Weekend                      24 hours

Sat and Sun – 14.30 – 23.00pm, plus Friday 16.00-23.00pm                           

Week 3Non Working Weekend           22 hours

Tuesday and Thursday 06.00-10.00am plus 16.00-22.00pm each day        

Week 4Working Weekend                     22 hours

Sat and Sun – 06.00am to 15.00pm, plus Friday 06.00 – 10.00am                 

If a shift falls on a Bank Holiday you are expected to work the designated shift.

There is an expectation that the shortfall of hours between what is contracted to what is worked will be utilised to cover annual leave, sickness absence and meetings.
