Vacancy Description

We wish to appoint a well-qualified, highly motivated and enthusiastic School Development Lead. The post-holder will be expected to support our primary schools in ensuring that achievement in English in West Berkshire Schools continues to improve and to provide high quality training across the authority.

You will have: 

  • An excellent track record of successful teaching at primary level.
  • A thorough knowledge  of  English in the National Curriculum
  • A commitment to raising standards in English.
  • The ability to deliver motivational training to teachers.
  • The skills to work alongside teachers to improve their learning and teaching skills.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and a commitment to team work.

Some flexibility in the role may be possible for candidates who offer specialisms in other core primary subjects. Applications for those seeking a secondment are welcomed.

This role has been identified as public facing in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2017; the requirement to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English applies.

This role requires the incumbent to have a car available at work to undertake his/her duties as they will be expected to undertake at least 1500 business miles per year. Essential Car User status attracts a lump sum allowance paid on a monthly basis as well as a free car parking space if he/she works at one of the Council’s corporate buildings.
