Vacancy Description

The purpose of West Berkshire Council’s Multiagency Emotional Health Triage (EHT) is to promote children and young people’s access to emotional health support. Multiagency EHT does not provide direct support to children and young people and is a partnership between services across the public and voluntary sectors. The responsibility of Multiagency EHT is to have an “open door” policy ensuring a single point of contact for members of the public or professionals who are concerned about a child or young person’s emotional health.

We are looking for a Referral Coordinator to join our dynamic and innovative team for 12 months in the first instance. The purpose of the Referral Coordinator post is to receive, log and progress referrals from members of the public and professionals. The role is also responsible for gathering relevant information from the family and involved agencies, informing next steps.

The Referral Coordinator is also responsible for receiving requests for our traded services with schools, families and organisations.

The Referral Coordinator reports to the Triage Coordinator.

We’re looking for professionals with:

  • Experience of providing information and advice to the public and professionals.
  • Understanding of child development and emotional health.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to working in partnership with others.
  • High level of initiative and strong organisational skills.

If this sounds like you and you are passionate about making a difference to the emotional health of our children and families – we want to hear from you.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Barry Stormont or Alison Ashby on 01635 519 018.

West Berkshire Council offers excellent employment benefits such as generous annual leave entitlement, flexible working, access to a wide range of relevant training, local government pension scheme, family friendly policies, a range of local discounts and much more.

This role has been identified as public facing in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2017; the requirement to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English applies.
