Vacancy Description

We have a vacancy for an Energy Contracts Officer to work within a busy Commissioning Service to deliver a procurement and contract management service for energy services across West Berkshire Council. 

Ideally educated to degree level, the successful candidate will advise senior managers and service areas on the contract management and procurement of energy services in line with the Council’s Contract Rules of Procedure and Public Contracts Regulations 2015, to achieve value for money and cashable and non-cashable savings. 

You will engage suppliers through appropriate tender methodology with support from the wider procurement team. Liaise with Council services and external organisation with regard to energy contracts, frameworks and usage.

You will have a sound understanding of the energy market, with excellent analytical skills and excel skills. You will have well developed negotiation skills and be able to manage a complex workload.

The ability to accurately assess and interpret statistical data is important as well as the ability to communicate with a range of people both verbally and in writing.
